Back Street Bistro has a “neighborhood” feel. Prices are reasonable, and the food is fresh and well-prepared. Homemade soups, sandwiches and salads. Good selection of breakfast items. Yummy homemade baked goods.

Bert’s Burger Bowl

Bert’s is an old-time drive-in. It’s been family owned and operated since 1954. Try their chile cheese burger; it’s a Santa Fe tradition.

Café Oasis

Café Oasis has a 1970’s “hippie” feel. Food is organic, free-range and hormone-free. Décor is Woodstock meets Santa Fe. Outdoor patio.

Café Pasqual’s

It’s often crowded, but worth the wait. Café Pasqual serves creatively prepared food in a festive, Mexican-tiled dining room. Emphasis is on natural/organic meats, poultry, eggs, and coffee. Great spot for breakfast. Be sure to make reservations for dinner.

Chicago Dog Express

A true hot dog joint—in the best sense. Get a classic hotdog or Polish sausage—or try their New Mexican offerings: Frito pies, tamale pies and breakfast burritos (available Mon-Fri 7:30-10:30am). No indoor seating, but there’s a sunny patio with umbrella tables.

Chow’s

Fresh ingredients and creative menu selections . . . Chow’s serves contemporary Chinese cuisine. It’s a welcome change when you’ve craving something that isn’t smothered in “red” or “green.”

The Compound

Elegant and pricey. The Compound was named one of Gourmet magazine’s Restaurants of the Year. A review from the Santa Fean summed it up: "For a grand repast, the reinvented Compound has won legions of devotees with its poetic setting, courtly service and superb cuisine.”

Coyote Cafe

Coyote Café is a Santa Fe tradition. The main dining room is elegant. Cottonwood, located at street level restaurant, offers affordable New Mexican specialties. But the really “happening” location is the Rooftop Cantina, which serves New Mexican and Caribbean specialties and cocktails in a colorful and casual setting.

Cowgirl BBQ
